As a provider of software and services for Environment, Health, Safety (EHS) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), we want to make a meaningful contribution to people, society, and the environment. From August 31 to September 1, we will take part in the “Reebok Ragnar Wattenmeerlauf” together with our users. For every kilometer run, we donate to the association One Earth - One Ocean (OEOO), whose mission is to rid the ocean of plastic waste, oil, and pollutants.
250 kilometers, 24 hours, 1 motivated Quentic relay team: Together with our customers, we are pushing boundaries! The Reebok Ragnar Relay is a truly special running experience. The run takes the participants directly along the Elbe – and is one of the most beautiful routes in Northern Germany.
An unforgettable experience
We are pleased that three of our customers are also running with us from Hamburg to St. Peter-Ording. Together with seven Quentic employees, they share the running distance of around 250 kilometers. They are supported by team buses that transport the runners to the various transition zones. The route is divided into 30 sections. Each participant runs three sections, each is between 5 and 18 kilometers long and varies in terms of difficulty. Since the run does not end at sunset, one section is often run in the dark. Protective equipment will, of course, be provided.
Protecting the environment as a team
At Quentic, not only health promotion and joint sporting activities are an established practice. Sustainability is firmly anchored in our corporate DNA. That is why we’ll take the “Reebok Ragnar Wattenmeerlauf” as an occasion to make a donation to the environmental organization One Earth - OneOcean (OEOO). The association has set itself the goal of freeing seas from plastic waste, oil, and pollutants worldwide. In the multi-stage concept of "maritime waste collection", plastic waste is collected by special refuse collection vessels and then recycled or converted back into oil. The association is also involved nationally and internationally in the fields of oil purification and microplastics as well as research and education on marine littering. Its aim is to change people's behavior towards (plastic) waste in the medium to long term. Since 2018, One Earth - One Ocean e.V. has been an official partner of the UN environmental campaign #CleanSeas.
